The house

Pentower was built in 1898 in an Arts & Crafts style. It is an interesting and historic house which was built for Sir Evan Jones, a local politician who was also an engineer and designed Fishguard Harbour.

This was a prestigious task as Fishguard was an important transatlantic port for some years and offered travellers the fastest route from New York to Paris for a period of time.

Sir Evan Jones must have been aware that his own house was ideally located to get a fabulous view of the Cunard liners.

At one stage, Pentower was the home of the famous Welsh broadcaster, writer & war correspondent Wynford Vaughan-Thomas.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children or dogs. The cats really wouldn’t like it!
